CPS Cricket Academy Inaugurated


CPS Cricket Academy was inaugurated at Chennai Public School on the occasion of Annual Sports Meet that was held recently in the Global Education Campus, Thirumazhisai.

The Sports Meet was declared open by the Chief Guest, Ms. Selvi, Former National Hockey Player, Goal Keeper & Sports Journalist. Mr. Ravishankar, Cricketer of the Year, Madras Cricket Club and Director, T S Mahalingam, inaugurated the CPS Cricket Academy and addressed the youngsters to aspire to take up the game as their career and enjoy their passion of playing cricket. Mr. Winfred Michael Raj E, Guinness Record Holder, Rubik Cube was the Special Guest. Present on this occasion were Shri. N Devarajan, Chairman, CPS Schools Group, Mr. Balaji Dagupati, Correspondent, Mr. Madhusudan L, Executive Director, Mr. Suman Babu, Director-IT and Mrs. Chitrakala Ramachandran, Principal.

CPS sports achievers in various fields were recognised with Sports Scholarship Awards. More than 1000 students took part in the Meet and 2000 spectators were around to witness this grand event. Rolling trophies, Individual Championships and Winning Medals were awarded to the deserving students who excelled in the field of sports and games at CPS.

The harvest Festival –“Pongal” was celebrated with great pomp and show in the CPS,TMZ campus, from  8th to 10th and 18th Jan ,2018 . It was a remarkable fruit yielded by the great efforts of Tamil Department headed and graced by the Principal, Sr. Vice Principal, Vice Principal and all the class coordinators

The celebration started with grand inauguration followed by the Traditional food fest. Students of class 9th enthusiastically participated in the Tamil Debate ‘Pattimandram’ with the topic Ikkala Suzalil Vivasayam – Valarchiai noki Selgiratha?   Veilchiai noki Selgiratha?

Principal of Global School, TMZ Mrs.Jeyu Ganesh and Tamil Department head – Global,TMZ  Graced the occasion as the special guest and probed the young minds of the importance of the agriculture in today’s world.

On the second day of the celebration the students of class 3-9 geared up the ambiance of school with a flamboyant dance performance.

Pre primary, the primary students displayed an array of events .They performed Thirupavai, Pongal dance and  a Tamil skit. Cultural programs like Kummiyattam, Karagattam, Oyilattam, Paraiattam, Mayilttam, Puliattam, Silabattam was performed by students of Grade 1 and 2.

“Christmas is a season not only of rejoicing but of reflection”

                                              To prove this the teachers and students of Pre Primary grade I & II of CPS TMZ had gathered in the school assembly hall on December 22, 2017 to celebrate Christmas. The programme started with the Nativity skit in which the students enacted the birth of Jesus Christ. The teachers sang carols. The programmes end up with a marvelous dance by the Preprimary to Grade II.

“Let our lives be full of both THANKS and GIVING”


CPS-Thirumazhisai celebrated Thanksgiving Day on 18th December 2017. The event was held to honor the birthday of our beloved Chairman Thiru N. Devarajan.

The program began with a welcome speech followed by a prayer song. The students of Pre Primary and middle school of CPS-CBSE enthralled the audience with their deft footsteps and expressions. The students from CPS-Global school sung the birthday song wishing our chairman a long life and good health.

The choir from CPS-CBSE and Global school harmoniously rendered Christmas carols.

The principal of CBSE School, Ms. Chitrakala Ramachandran, the Head of School (Global School), Ms. Jayu Ganesh, the Sr. Vice Principal (CBSE) Ms. Suchithra Santhosh and the Coordinators presented the chairman Thiru. N. Devarajan with gifts and greeting cards prepared exclusively by the students. The school heads extended Birthday wishes and greetings to the chairman on the auspicious occasion.

The students of the pre-primary, Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai displayed their creative bend of mind at the craft exposition held in the school on Friday,15th December 2017.The little ones from Pre-kg/Mont-I to UKG/Mont-III displayed an array of crafts made from ordinary materials found at home. Matchsticks, vegetables, discarded CD’s, ice-cream sticks and cardboard transformed magically into masks, wall hangings and table decor. The students were as thrilled at creating things of art and beauty as they were at going around and examining the work of their friends. The expo provided a unique platform for the students to dabble in art and gain confidence in their abilities. Students carried ‘cat’ and ‘monkey’ masks as take home.
