“Many little people, in little places, doing little things, can change the world.” – Eduardo Galeano
Everybody has a special talent, and all it takes is a little bit of digging to find that out. Though the pandemic has brought our life to a standstill, Certainly, the lockdown is something the present generation would not have anticipated. However, this has not curtailed the ambitions, dreams and creative minds of our young CPSites.
Prajith Ragavender D, a Class VIII student of Chennai Public School, Anna Nagar, was inspired by hearing a news report about a 13-year-old boy who had created a drone for the Indian Army. His mother encouraged him to do something similar to contribute to his home. This kindled his interest to create something relevant and useful for the current situation. Equipped with the skills acquired from his robotics class at school alongside his personal interest to create, Prajith began building an Automatic Hand Sanitizer Dispenser by assembling the components and soldering. Though his first few attempts did not provide the desired outcome, it did not deter the spirit of this young mind. He persevered until he obtained the desired result. This endeavour has certainly spurred his desire to follow what Nelson Mandela had said, “We can change the world and make it a better place. It is in your hands to make the difference.” To this end, he intends to continue to explore the field of robotics and find more practical and beneficial applications.
