CPS-ANNANAGAR “Mesmerizing Rendezvous”

“Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.” Alan Wilson Watt
Between a global pandemic and inspiring activism, 2020 has already had its share of life-changing moments — but the stars are also just getting warmed up.The Celestial meeting of the ringed planet Saturn and Gas Giant Jupiter on 21st December 2020 will go down in the annals of astronomy. As the sky turned to a dusky purple littered with tiny silvery stars (between 6.30 to 7.30) Jupiter and Saturn appeared spectacularly close together on the sky’s dome. Emerging as a bright star like object this conjunction proved to be a visual treat to all star gazers across the world. This spectacular cosmic concurrence programmed by two giants of the Solar System, coincides with the winter solstice in the Northern hemisphere. It is special for another reason too: The last time anyone on earth experienced such a rare phenomenon was 800 years ago.
This year’s rare planetary alignment may not be a harbinger from the heavens, but none the less it has awakened in us the mysteries of the universe and the celestial world.
