CPS Thirumazhisai – Emoticons

Emoji’s are a great way for students to communicate across language barriers and help them express sentiments and emotions. On the occasion of EMOTICONS day recently, students of the Pre-Primary department celebrated the event with complete involvement and excitement.

The day began with a fun-filled introduction concerning the colour yellow. Students were dressed up in different shades of yellow. It was indeed a visual treat to see the impact of the celebrations on our little ones. They expressed their feelings and emotions through emojis during the circle time. It was a thoroughly enjoyable activity with whole hearted participation from all students.The students had so much fun playing with their feelings by making their favorite emojis out of clay. Emoji Greeting cards made by our students, expressed a wide range of emotions.

The event enabled students to identify and express emotions and also become sensitive towards the emotions of others.

CPS Thirumazhisai – La Fete Nationale 2022

French National Day is commonly known as the ‘Bastille Day’ in English, celebrated on the 14 of July every year. Our school being true to its ideology encourages and promotes celebration of all cultures. Hence, in this spirit of being ‘International Minded’, the French language teachers and students of Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai together organized an event to mark this date. The activities like tongue twisters, vocabulary-based memory games, singing French songs and making handmade French flags for kids in primary classes brought out the students’ creativity as well as their eagerness to learn more about life in France and to distinguish the difference in cultures of India and France.

CPS-ANNANAGAR- Masoom-Keeping Children Safe

  Let tender minds have no scar. Primary students of CPS attended an awareness campaign by ‘Masoom’, a Young Indian Project to educate children on the difference between safe and unsafe touch. A touch that makes a child nervous or discomfited should be never allowed. The session’s prime objective was to encourage kids to speak up about their minds, problems, and worries when they feel unsafe or insecure for their protection and personal safety. Child Sexual Abuse, is a very sensitive topic explained through a skit with a motto, “I Speak. I Share. I Smile”.

CPS-ANNANAGAR-FOOT FIESTA

“Great dancers are not great because of their technique, they are great because of their passion.” – Martha Graham

The students of the Primary wing of Chennai Public School, Anna Nagar participated in the “Foot Fiesta”, a dance competition to unveil their hidden talents in dance. Each of them gave a terrific performance and set the floor on fire through their splendid synchronization of choreography, rhythm and energy. Some also used props like hats, sticks, hula hoops to fascinate the audience and judges. This event paved the way for the bloom of young talents and future terpsichoreans.

Justifying the above famous saying of Zoe Kravitz, the Pre Primary tiny tots of Chennai Public School, Anna Nagar, had a week long learning on the importance and uniqueness of oneself through “Being Myself”, an event to help children develop an healthy sense of self and realize that every individual is distinct and special.  Children were involved in various activities where they decorated hand-made mirrors using colour paper, foil sheet, stones and then pasted their photograph to make it “I AM SPECIAL”. 

CPS Thirumazhisai – Special Assembly Class VD

“Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader”

To consider this quote Class V D of Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai conducted special assembly recently. The theme of the assembly is ‘Decent work and economic growth’, various events like mime show, special talents, dance  debate etc, were conducted. Performers as well as the spectators have learnt something informative. The program was well organised and implemented by the teachers and the students.

CPS Thirumazhisai – Flower Dissection

 “Bloom like a flower; unfold your own beauty”

The inherent talent of the students of CPS is nurtured through a plethora of classroom activity which is integrated with the school curriculum. As part of this integration, Grade IV students dissected the hibiscus flower. This exciting hands-on-activity helped the children to identify the main flower parts and thereby conceptualize the process of pollination and seed formation. Students utilized this experiential learning to develop their creativity and analytical thinking.

CPS Thirumazhisai – Craft Junkies

The Primary department of Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai organised “Craft Junkies” recently to sensitize our young minds about recycling. A craft competition with the theme of “Underwater Animals” using waste materials was conducted for the students to learn the importance of creating “Best out of waste”. Craft is passionately creating something with your hands. Children had shown their interest in making flower petals and aquatic animals, using fevicol, papers, oil pastel crayons, water colours and pista shells. The tiny tots were energetic throughout the event by engaging themselves with different creative activities. The day was colourful and best learning experience for the students.
