Learning about the shapes at CPS Preprimary classrooms influence the children so much that they came bringing fruits, vegetables and sandwiches carved into the shapes they had learned as their snacks and didn’t stop discussing about it to their peer groups and to their teachers.These activities help kids to correlate the number of sides and the number of ice cream sticks used for assembling each shape. “SHAPES ON POPSICLE ” was their takeaway of the event ‘Contours’ which was completely designed by the kids. All of them were able to develop their bilateral coordination, fine motor skills and their mathematical skills by recognising the shapes, counting and sorting. It also gave kids a sense of achievement that allowed them to take pride in their work which built their confidence.
