Sparrow Conservation Project initiated at CPS

O.T. Ravindran Foundation carries forward the legacy of Mr. O.T. Ravindran, furthering the causes of ecological conservation, education for deserving students, and promoting scientific art, took up many pioneering projects like ‘Swanirbhar P-Age 19’, ‘Zero Waste Management’ and ‘Sparrow Conservation’.
In association with Chennai Public School, Chennai, OTRF organized an awareness programme on sparrow conservation project – ‘Let’s Bring Them Back’, and distributed artificial nests, guided the installation and maintenance of the nest boxes to create a viable ambience for the sparrows to nest and multiply. Along with Mr. O. M. Shailendran, Director of OTRF and several eminent people of Chennai Public School, Dr. D. Rajasekhar, the Chief Scientist & Group Director of ship management group at National Institute of Ocean Technology, Chennai graced the occasion.
Various competitions were held to spread an awareness on sparrow conservation and the winners were recognised with medals and certificates by the foundation. The vibrant effort of students, teachers and OTRF team made the event a grand success.
