CPS-ANNANAGAR-Young Cartographer honoured by the Governor of Uttarakhand.

GPS or Google Maps, Atlas or Travel Guide, the base of everything is a well sketched ‘Map’. 

The largest organisations in the field of cartography, The Indian Cartographic Association organised an online quiz on ‘Digital Cartography to harness Blue Economy’ recently. With over 10,000 student participants from 700 schools across India, H.R. Kanish of class X, Chennai Public School, Anna Nagar stood second bringing laurels to entire South India.

Kanish was later invited to Dehradun where Governor of Uttarakhand His Excellency Lt Gen. Gurmit Singh presented his award. During his interview with Doordarshan, Kanish spoke about the secret behind his success and said, “Regular preparation for over a month on topo sheet interpretation and satellite imagery. Going through supplementary material and questionnaires proved to be of great help.”

CPS Thirumazhisai – Dancing Super Stars

To hone the dancing skills of the students, Pre Primary Department of Chennai Public school, Thirumazhisai organized an inter class dance competition in our school, on  the theme “Life Below Water”.

 True to the theme, the students of each class set the floor on fire with their energetic and enthusiastic performances. This was a reflection of their passion and hard work. The choreography, rhythm, team work and presentation of the students were awesome.

The judges congratulated the winners and appreciated the performances of all the students. They also encouraged them to participate in more events to enhance their talents.

CPS-ANNANAGAR-IMPULSE 2K22

The most awaited cultural event of Chennai Public School, Anna Nagar ‘Impulse 2022’ climaxed recently. Impulse ’22 was inaugurated by Mr. Dinesh Arjun, Founder & CEO of Raptee Motors, and play back singer Ms. Namitha Babu graced with her presence. The involvement and participation of students from various schools in a range of events like Hercules’ Test, Silver Tongue, Elysium, Family Feud to name a few made the event highly competitive.

The Overall Championship was bagged by SBOA School and Junior College. Monisha E was the proud owner of the Mr. Impulse title pushing Sai Kavin M to be the Runner-up. The two days event was a complete showcase of ability, hard work, team spirit and fun. Not only talents but also colourful stalls and aromatic food items made the event complete.

CPS Thirumazhisai – Once Upon a Time…

Enthusiasm, discipline, personal style, stage presence and excellent costume makes a best performer. Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai organized a Story Telling Competition ’22 recently enabling the #preprimary stars to narrate a story on the topic ‘Life Below Water’. It is not about winning but the showcase of talents along with the building of narrative and vocabulary skills making the show fruitful.

CPS Thirumazhisai – Festival of Lights

Diwali is the festival of lights which is celebrated in various regions across India. The name Diwali literally means an array of lights. To make the students understand the importance of Diwali and its safety precautions, the pre-primary department of the Chennai Public School Thirumazhisai had a celebration in school. He preprimary wing is decorated with lights, diyas , lanterns, and paper crackers from eco-friendly products. The children were taught on the importance of Diwali and the precautions to be taken during the festival. Diwali spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. The children decorated diyas with colors and glitter,  popsicles with stars and glitter denoting rocket crackers. The children talked about what they and their families planned to do in celebrations. The tiny tots also enacted the story of Rama and Sita with the guidance of teachers. The students are also encouraged to do a role play on safety during Diwali. Both teachers and students enjoyed the Diwali celebration wholeheartedly.
