The F1 in Schools competition is a global-level competition that takes place annually. The students of Chennai Public School Thirumazhisai participated in this competition for the first time and made it all the way through to the National Finals at Amity University, Noida. It has been nothing short of a fantastic learning experience for the whole team. Sigma Racing has learnt much-needed life lessons like:
Coping with pressure
Importance of teamwork.
The team consisted of 6 members

Both the judging went on really well with the judges very impressed with the team’s coordination, deep understanding of the concepts, etc. Before the knockout races kicked off, there was the rectification judging where the teams would be allowed to look into their cars and make changes to the cars according to the violations that were given to them on the violation paper by the judges during the scrutineering judging. Sigma Racing was one of the 3 teams to have 0 violations in their cars. Sigma Racing had successfully qualified for the top 32 out of the 55 teams that participated in the first round of the knockout racing clocking the third-fastest reaction time of 0.21 seconds and the tenth-fastest overall race time of 1.53 seconds.
On the last and final day, Sigma Racing had their pit display judging where they would be given 90 minutes to construct a pit display that expressed Sustainability, Quality, Out of the box thinking
As said by Henry Ford, “If everyone moves forward together, success takes care of itself”.
This quote was brought to life by Sigma Racing when it had completed the Pit display on time and got applause for making one of the finest pit displays that World Finalist team member Samridh from Helios Racing has ever seen.
Last but not the least, the award ceremony. Sigma Racing being first timers shocked the whole arena by being nominated for 8 award categories namely:
Best Rookie team
