CPS TMZ – Workshop On Bloom’s Taxonomy

“One of the beauties of teaching is that there is no limit to one’s growth as a teacher, just as there is no knowing beforehand how much your students can learn.”

We would just like to thank our Principal for the effort and expertise that she brought to the workshop the other day. We found it very informative and have taken many things (professionally and personally) from the workshop. The highlight was that there were many activities for teachers which gave hands on experience on the concepts.

“Simply to say it was just a contagion.”

The workshop inculcated that the teacher must plan a lesson, which includes a variety of activities and questions, forcing the students to think and function at each level of the taxonomy. This is the teacher’s opportunity to be creative.

THE WORKSHOP IN A NUTSHELL

  • Before you can remember a concept, you must understand it.
  • To apply a concept you must first remember it.
  • In order to evaluate a process, you must have analyzed it.
  • To createan accurate conclusion, you must have completed a thorough evaluation.

Lesson taken from the workshop:

The higher order thinking skills infused by the workshop will make the teachers connect between past and new teaching skills, strengthen existing pathways and create new methods of teaching.

Thus the workshop instilled the likelihood that the new learning will be consolidated and applied while teaching.
