The 72nd Independence Day of India was celebrated at Chennai Public School GEC campus, Thirumazhisai. The Tricolor was unfurled at 7:45 a.m.by The Principal of Chennai Public School CBSE and the Head of School, CPS Global. The unity under one flag was commemorated with a variety entertainment programme befitting the solemnity of the occasion. The patriotic fervor of the students was evident as they intoned the Flag song and the National song. The Head Girl spread awareness on the significance of the day through an information laden speech.  A speech on Korean Independence Day was orated by the Head Boy of CPS Global, as it was also the Korean Independence Day. An array of events was displayed by students to name a few yoga display and the  aesthetic talents of the students was revealed through a pantomime based on the life of our former President, Dr. A.P. J Abdul Kalam.

My Country My Pride

The Pre-primary wing of Chennai public school, Thirumazhisai conducted ‘Fancy Dress’ competition on the theme ‘My Country, My Pride’ befitting the Independence Day occasion. Participants from each section depicted eminent personalities and historical leaders of India. The gems in the crown were IPP I students who depicted the traditional costumes of different states of India.

The entrants of Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai for athletic events reaped accolades at various venues,

N.S.N Memorial Athletic Meet 2018– Amanda P of class IX won the Under-17 Long Jump.

YMCA Buck Memorial Festival– Amanda P of class IX won Gold Medal in Under-17 Long Jump. Siddharth Satish Kumar of class XI won Silver Medal in Shot Put. The team of Marisha Susan Thomas(Class XI), Amanda P(Class IX), Madhumitha(Class XI) and Shraddha Ganesh(Class IX) bagged the Bronze Medal in 4*100 Meters Relay.

Thiruvallur District Junior Athletic Championship– Amanda P of Class IX secured the Bronze Medal for both 100 meters race and Under-16 Long Jump. Taushik of Class XI took the Gold Medal in the 110 meters Hurdles.

Radio City championship at Nehru Statium– Amanda P of Class IX once again took three Gold medals in 80 meters, 100 meters and Long Jump events.

Kudos to the Winners!!!

The duo of P Kishan and R Prayag bowled exceptionally well in tandem as Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai inflicted a heavy nine-wicket defeat on Vellamal Vidhyashram SSS in the Lion MS Ranganathan Memorial State-level Under-13 Cricket tournament at the Reddy MN Greens Grounds.

CPS TMZ, 114 for 5 in 30 overs, a fine medium pace bowling by P Kishan(5 for 8) and well supported by Prayag R(4 for 7) enabled CPS beat Vellamal. Congratulations to the Team!!



ITC’s Well-being Out of Waste (WOW) programme is a flagship initiative that seeks to address the crucial issue of post-consumer waste management in line with the Government’s `Swachh Bharat’ programme, ensuring the proper segregation and recycling of waste in a manner that protects and restores the environment. This programme aims to create awareness among school children about the “Reduce-Reuse-Recycle” approach. The programme seeks to inculcate the habit of source segregation prior to collection of post-consumer waste.

In CPS TMZ, the Well-being Out of Waste (WOW) programme was conducted from 17.07.18 to 18.07.18. Students from class 1 to 10 brought old notebooks, textbooks and newspapers with great enthusiasm and received new classmate notebooks and stationery in exchange.

CPS TMZ : Early Etiquettes

Good manners lead to good habits, which leads to the development of one’s self
and the society. “Early Etiquettes” event was conducted by the Pre Primary wing
of Chennai Public School Thirumazhisai on 27th July 2018. The event focused on inculcating good habits and  the use of the golden words like ‘Thank you, Sorry, Please and Excuse Me’. The students from classes IPP1 to IPP 3 and UKG performed various programme like rhymes on golden words, skit on school etiquette’s and so on. Activity on washing hands, folding napkins etc., were conducted to emphasize on self hygiene.

The Literary Week kicked off to a start on July 18,2018 in Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai, to convey the importance of English language and to enable students to enjoy the realms of English literature. Students were enlightened on the significance of reading, origin of novels as well as poetry, during the school assembly. Fairy tale characterization, Recitation, Twist in the Tale, JAM, Monologue Presentation, Dialogue Presentation were the competitions held which the students of grades I –IX and XI, got opportunities not only  to tap into their creative resources but also to test their skills of vocabulary, fluency, confidence and time management.

CPS TMZ – Child Safety – (Good touch and Bad Touch)

Keeping children safe is of paramount importance at all times!

We need to empower the students to speak up for themselves hence the Child safety event was conducted in Chennai Public School Thirumazhisai Campus by the Pre-Primary wing on 29th June 2018 and class I to V on 19th July 2018 respectively  by the Pre-Primary teachers. The underlying objective of this event was to teach the little ones about guarding themselves against harassment, abuse etc. The Tiny tots learnt how to differentiate between good and bad touch through rhymes, a colouring activity and a power point presentation. Teachers also sensitised the students by enacting small stories on Good touch and Bad touch.

‘La Fete Nationale’ (The French National Day) was celebrated in Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai on July 14, 2018. Mr. K.G. Sugesh, HoD, Department of French, GTA Vidhya Mandir, appreciated the Management, staff and students for their flair in learning French as their second language. Students were in the attire of French Flag and spectra of events like skit, songs were presented by them. French room was decorated with colourful balloons and exhibits which exuded an aura of “JOIE DE VIVRE”.
