All the teachers of Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai, enhanced their teaching skills through a variety of enrichment programmes.
The resource person Ms.Uma Maheswari conducted the workshop on Learning Difficulties among students, attributed the reasons for the difficulties as neurological differences. Ways to identify such students and strategies to help them were explained. A class in Phonetics was introduced where the sound of each Alphabet was made familiar to the teachers.
A workshop by Ms. Mukthar Tahsin Fathima, Vice Principal, was conducted on Multiple Intelligence emphasizing that every student is smart in one way or the other. A story telling session was included in this session.
A workshop on ‘Know Your Students’ was conducted by Ms Monica Melvin and Ms Nancy, where the teachers were introduced to the types of students they find in the classroom. Through different case studies, teachers arrived at solutions to tackle the problems.
Ms Padmavathi S, Vice Principal, conducted a session on ‘Difference of opinion and difference in opinion’. Based on a power point presentation, she explained the topic as well as how to manage conflicts in the workplace through animated illustrations. Peace comes not from absence of conflict but by coping with it- was the key idea conveyed.
The Language teachers attended a few more subject oriented programmes conducted by Ms. Dharshana. Resource people from MacMillan and Oxford Publications also whetted the skills of the teachers. Mr. C.P. Vishwanath, founder of the Karadi Path Publications, enlightened the teachers on comprehension preceding writing abilities during language acquisition.
We take the Pride in Sharing Amanda.P of Class IX-C secured the BRONZE Medal in the Long Jump event, in the CBSE Cluster VI -2017-18 held at St.John’s International Residential School Palanjur, Chennai.

SOF exams were conducted in Chennai public School, Thirumazhisai in the academic year 2017-2018 to improve the student’s problem solving ability, logical and analytical reasoning skills. Many of our students were qualified for the second level of examination and won gold, silver and bronze medals under different categories.
Six students of Chennai Public School – Thirumazhisai had cleared JEE Mains in the year 2017 -18. They have been qualified for the Advance level.
Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai feels proud to mention that the pioneer initiative of conducting the International Commerce Olympiad in our school campus on 17.11.2017 was successful. Our students faced the tough competition and have brought in laurels by winning medals.

- PRADEEP YADAV of Grade 11 won the Second position in School. He received the Silver Medal and a Certificate of Merit.
- DISHA SIVAKUMAR of Grade 11 won the Third position in School. She received the Bronze Medal and a Certificate of Merit.
Student of Chennai public School – Thirumazhisai Akshay Anand- X C got scholarship of Rs.100000 on the Sparks of our Times conducted by Times of India on 17th March 2018 He has demonstrated a commitment to become responsible citizen in the future and deserve to be applauded by all of us.

Graduation Ceremony of Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai was on 19th February 2018. Dr. Bhavanishankar Subramanian, Senior Principal of Lalaji Memorial Omega International School, Chennai was the Chief Guest who enthralled the gathering with his wonderful speech. It was a proud moment for the teachers and parents who witnessed the students being awarded the graduation scrolls.
The students expressed their gratitude to the management and all the teachers for having supported and guided them throughout their school life. Teachers made the student life more cherishable, by conferring them with apt “Fun Titles” and wished them the blessings and good luck for their future endeavours. In a symbolic gesture, the teachers handed on “The Lamp of Knowledge”, as it were to the students in the train to carry forward the wisdom gathered from their teachers in the years to come and in the places where their lives will lead them.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Rishika Gupta.

Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai participated in the West Chennai Sahodaya Cluster 2017-18 Athletic meet held at SDAT Stadium, Chetpet on 23rd January 2018. The winners on different categories from our school are mentioned below,
- Anvee Agarwal of class VI won Silver medal for Shotput.
- Jitendra Nayak of class VI won Silver medal for 100mts dash.
- Isabelle Jaison of class VIII won Gold medal in Shotput.
- Amanda P of class IX won the Gold medal for long jump and 200mts.
- Naman Singh of class VIII won Gold medal for Shotput and bronze medal for 200mts dash.
The Individual Championship was grabbed by Amanda P of class IX.

“There is no pressure when you are making a dream come true”
A brilliant Football Tournament held in Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai on 9th February 2018. Eight schools participated in the tournament. Mr. Gopi, the Physical Director welcomed the gathering. All the teams showed their excellent skill and performance.
The Football Tournament was held in two different categories – Under-12 and Under-14 for boys. Under-12 category Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai was the winner and Chinmaya Vidhyalaya, Annanagar was the runner. Under-14 category Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidhyashram, Kilpauk was the winner and Chinmaya Vidhyalaya, Annanagar was the runner.
The Chief Guest, Principal Mrs. Chitrakala Ramachandran encouraged the students for the laudable performance and gave the prizes. Senior Vice Principal Mrs. Suchithra Santhosh distributed the prizes and appreciated them for the victory and making the day a memorable one.
