On 6th September 2022, Chennai Public School Thirumazhisai conducted the Commerce Fest in its school premises with the aim of involving every student in Commerce related activities in hopes to spread awareness on the ways of the world. The theme for this year was SDG Goal Number 8- Decent Work and Economic Growth. Students were involved in activities like Stock Market, Shark Tank, a Puppet Show which depicted the evolution of money, Fireless Cooking, Best out of Waste, Visual Retailing, and a life sized game of Monopoly. The highlight of the Fest was the grueling debate on “After 4 phases of lockdown due to COVID, unlock begins. What is its impact on the economy of India?”, where the Class 11 and 12 students of Commerce went head-to-head, in which Class 12 emerged victorious. The event was a grand success which was well liked and its future editions are anticipated by the school.
Our little kiddos transforming into merchants, customers, farmers showcased their proficiency in handling fruits, vegetables, weighing scale and money resembling a real life experience making the event enjoyable as well as educational. Students expressed their enthusiasm and enjoyed the day with great fun.

Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai joins hand in congratulating the teachers honoured with IPN Inspire Awards 2022 from Indian Principal’s Network, a nationally acclaimed body of school leaders.
More than thousand nominations, 208 schools across the country, among 113 teacher finalists, Ms. Nehashree, Primary Mathematics teacher made it to the 5th position under the category ‘Teacher Innovator of the Year’ and Ms. Hema Rajakumari, Coordinator for Primary section bagged the 1st runner up position under the category ‘Forerunner of the Year’. CPS is always committed to uphold the high standards in education to provide students the opportunity to lead their learning; and achievements like these inspire every teacher to put in their best efforts.
From a total of six teams participated, chennaipublicschool, Thirumazhisai bagged the runner-up title in Thiruvallur District Basketball Tournament 2022 conducted by the ICF Colony Basketball club affiliated to Tamilnadu Basketball Association. CPS Girls U13 Basketball team went on attack right from the beginning of the match making it to the finals. Best Player of the Tournament was awarded to Diya D of Class VIII. Congratulations team!
WISTERIA 2022 – A Deep Dive of Discovery, the cultural fest of Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai was held recently in an exuberant manner witnessing 600+ students from 28 schools across the city participating in various events, showcasing their talents and potentials, in an effort to achieve and gain glory to their institutions.
The campus throbbed with energy and vigour as students vibed with each other to win laurels. The Judge opined that the quality of competition across the events was of high calibre. The ‘Final Showdown’ on Day 2 was judged by stalwarts including Mr. Shantanu, Mr. Pragadeeswaran, Mr. Amrit and Mr. Likiteshwar. ‘Mr. Wisteria 2022’ title was bagged by Bharath Roshan of Velammal Vidyalaya, Mel Ayanambakkam and ‘Ms. Wisteria 2022’ title was donned by S P Shree Harini of CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai. Television fame twins Mr. Arun and Aravind, the Chief Guests of the event won the hearts of all the students and faculties by their words on the importance of good values and relationships and also appreciated the work of the Team Wisteria for hosting such an event in a spectacular way and awarded the winners and runner up together with the Principal Ms. Chitrakala Ramachandran with medals, trophies and certificates.
The effort, team work and coordination of the students made Wisteria 2022 a grand success bringing laurels to the school.

An awareness program on Importance and problems of literacy in today’s world was organized by Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai. It was followed by a series of creative competitions like storytelling, quiz, Slogan writing, poster making, book mark, book cover making etc, where students participated with lot of enthusiasm.

CPS always kindles the interest in students in all the best ways it can. The students of classes II A & B had a special assembly recently where they showcased their talents which are integrated with their curriculum. Students of Class II A presented storytelling with puppets, song recitation on the theme “Friendship” & “Sustainable cities communities”, Magic show & skit with moral values. The shows topper was Anusri of Class IIA solving the magic Rubik’s cube in a very short time. To inculcate patriotism in the young minds, Students of Class II B had their special assembly on the theme “My India My Pride”. Science experiments were also performed which helped other students to understand the mysteries of the Universe. Students were also awarded to boost their talents and participations.

Ganesh Chathurthi was celebrated by the Pre Primary students of Chennai Public School Thirumazhisai recently with great zeal and enthusiasm. The students were attired in ethnic wear.
The event commenced with spiritual songs in praise of Lord Ganesha and stories told by teachers. The eco-friendly natural clay Ganeshas molded by students along with our Principal created much excitement among students. The activity is hoped to instill environmental awareness among students.
To enhance the festive mood a video related to the festival was shown to students. Different activities like rangoli pasting, sticking pulses, bhajans and shlokas, engaged the students, making the atmosphere charged with festive fervor. The event was enjoyed by the tots and teachers alike.

Water is the most precious component needed for food and life. All human beings, animals and plants have a requirement of water. Thus, we need to conserve water resources. SDG 6 focuses on ensuring clean water, stable water supply and effective water sanitation for all people by the year 2030. The Primary department of Chennai Public School, Thirumazhisai organized AQUA COOL in our school premises .Students of Grade I &II actively participated in this competition which helps them to explore the new ideas to conserve water for the future and deals with some of the main implementation challenges related to four main themes (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Water Resources Management, Water Quality and Risks) in relation to the targets recommended by the Open Working Group on Sustainable Development Goals.

O.T. Ravindran Foundation carries forward the legacy of Mr. O.T. Ravindran, furthering the causes of ecological conservation, education for deserving students, and promoting scientific art, took up many pioneering projects like ‘Swanirbhar P-Age 19’, ‘Zero Waste Management’ and ‘Sparrow Conservation’.
In association with Chennai Public School, Chennai, OTRF organized an awareness programme on sparrow conservation project – ‘Let’s Bring Them Back’, and distributed artificial nests, guided the installation and maintenance of the nest boxes to create a viable ambience for the sparrows to nest and multiply. Along with Mr. O. M. Shailendran, Director of OTRF and several eminent people of Chennai Public School, Dr. D. Rajasekhar, the Chief Scientist & Group Director of ship management group at National Institute of Ocean Technology, Chennai graced the occasion.
Various competitions were held to spread an awareness on sparrow conservation and the winners were recognised with medals and certificates by the foundation. The vibrant effort of students, teachers and OTRF team made the event a grand success.
