Chennai Public Group of Schools celebrated its 3rd Annual Sports Meet at CPS, Global Education Campus at Thirumazhisai recently. Chairman Shri.N.Devarajan, Managing Trustees, Directors and Principals accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Guests, Distinguished invitees, Parents and Well- Wishers on this spectacular day.
The Chief Guest of the opening ceremony Mr. R.NATARAJAN – International Athlete, Superintendent of Customs, Director, IBPA Chennai who represented India in the Common Wealth Games congratulated the participants for their achievement at state and National level.
The Guest of Honour Ms. ROHINI RAU – Indian Sailor, and first Gold Medalist in the thrilling sport, sailing released the CPS Annual Sports Magazine Synergy’12 and stimulated the young CPSites to pursue their interest in becoming the proud members of sailing club which is beyond mere adventure.
More than 500 students showcased their intrinsic talents in various events that included a March Past, School band performance, Wushu –Kung–Fu, Human Pyramid, Step aerobics, Pole drill, Ball drill, Yoga demonstration and so on. The hard work, sincerity and dedication of the participants truly reflected in their performances.
The Chief Guest of the closing ceremony, Ms. ANUSUYA BAI IRPS, Arjuna Awardee – Athletics, Deputy Chief Personnel Officer(Welfare), Southern Railways felicitated and honoured all the nine promising CPS Champs with the Abhinav Bindra Educational Scholarship Award for their achievement in the field on Sports. The Guests commended the sports interest of students and achievements of the school in sports domain.
