The display of colourful banner, the artistically decorated and illuminated stage, the hustle and bustle of eager and enthusiastic parents and the lively parade of the participants added to the jubilation and exhilaration at Kamaraj Arangam on 17 July 2019 as the 10th Annual Day Spectra ’19 – Dashotsav of Chennai Public School, Anna Nagar was in progress.

The dramatic journey of Chennai Public School from a seedling to a sprawling banyan tree wherein fledglings are groomed to venture into the vast universe was the underlying theme of this Annual Day. Dr. S. Anandan,the Dean of SRMC and Mrs. Kanchi Khanna, Director, Outreach and Communication, Krea University presided over the function. Both the Guests stressed on the need to be passionate about one’s interest rather than pursue the beaten track. The guests were honored by the Chairman Shri N.Devarajan. The Correspondent in his address highlighted on the various teaching and learning pedagogies that initiated the progressive journey of the school for the past ten years. The Principal Mrs. Asha Nathan updated the audience with the events at CPS through the Annual Report 2018-19.

Proficiency awards for various classes were distributed to students and the toppers of classes 10 and 12 were honoured for their exemplary performance in the AISSE and AISSCE respectively. Mrs. Chittu , Vice-Principal,Secondary, rendered the vote of thanks.

The cultural fiesta that followed was indeed a feast to the eye. From the soulful notes of western and Carnatic music to the magical world of Alladin , and voyaging through the ‘Gift of Nile’, concluding with the colorful and lilting tunes of Indian dances the event was a feast to the spectators. Their scintillating performance won great applause and appreciation from the audience.

Thus, with hearts full of pride for the nation and the National Anthem on our lips the curtains came down after the final bow.
